The weather forecast looks just about perfect for a weekend of exciting events across Hamilton. This Saturday, May 2 and Sunday, May 3 is a fantastic opportunity to discover your city through Doors Open Hamilton and Jane's Walk Hamilton.
Doors Open is an annual event in which heritage properties across the city open their doors for members of the public to visit and tour for free. This year, 38 sites are participating in all areas of the city.
Doors Open started in France in 1984 and has since spread to dozens of countries and thousands of communities. The first Doors Open Ontario took place in 2002. Doors Open Hamilton is organized by the Hamilton branch of the Architectural Conservancy of Ontario in partnership with the Hamilton Burlington Society of Architects.
Jane's Walk is a series of free neighbourhood walking tours held in honour of the great urbanist Jane Jacobs (1916, 2006), who discovered great insights about cities by walking around them and observing closely.
This year, there will be 28 walking tours:
Jane's Walk is held every year on the first weekend of May in the anniversary of Jacobs' birthday. The first Jane's Walk was held in 2007. Last year, there were over 1,000 walks in 134 cities and 25 countries.

Thank you so much for mirroring this information. I don't want to have to start a wordpress page just to access it on the doors open Hamilton site, which seems like what I need to do.
