Is this some cool new project in Hong Kong or Singapore?

Nope, it's going to be built along the light rail transit corridor in Kitchener.

The project includes three towers: 30 storeys, 21 storeys and 15 storeys. It will have 815 units in total, with 544,000 square feet of residential space, 90,000 square feet of retail space and 78,000 square feet of office space.

some preliminary drawings and plans are not necessarily indicative of a finished product. also, condo towers are not necessarily solving the problems we have in canadian cities: a lack of reasonable urban housing options for families. this will suit the tech crowd that's now there fine i suppose

Maybe Vranich will build something like this in Hamilton. But of course with his beloved pre-cast concrete slabs instead of glass.

You do know that glass towers are almost exclusively made with pre cast slabs

I said precast "concrete" slabs, like the building going up at 220 Cannon St East. It is ugly, IMO.

Almost all buildings are made with precast concrete slabs no matter what the exterior designs are, glass brick panels or any combination Thats how they are built. You obviously meant prefab exterior panels not precast concrete slabs

Its a standard third story downward looking view, a pretty development picture. The point being is that, how many more are coming after this one? If my spies are right and they usually are, there maybe quite a few more developments coming "down the railroad" towards the both downtown Kitchener & downtown Waterloo. Will see how these developments change both area's over time, however, it is looking good for them isn't it.

Meanwhile in Hamilton, a 9 storey building going to the OMB. Yes, not 90 stories. NINE. Right across the street from a pile of 9-14 storey buildings and right next to an 8 storey building, no less.

Amazing level of NIMBYism in this town
