Head First

See this show, and hurry, since Monday is their last performance in Hamilton. Fearless gals with great biceps, swooping up and down in space the way you do in your dreams (or nightmares) - very liberating and exhilarating.

Choreographers/performers Sabrina Pringle and Holly Treddenick have put together a beautiful show. It begins with duet for themselves, mostly on bungee cords that enable them to levitate and hover mysteriously close to the floor.

Their second piece is a long set for themselves and four other dancers, using circus silks, all over the place, in many combinations, always surprising.

Some favourite moments: the sexy duet around a knotted cradle with two bodies entangled and ever-enfolding; the large-scale sequences with all six dancers connecting and disconnecting in wild and wonderful ways.

In 2008, Artword relocated to Hamilton where it has just completed its season of four original works with a Hamilton theme. Artword is currently working on its plans for its 2009-2010 season here.
