Council Puts Out for Binbrook Drive-Thru

Hamilton is like the evangelical teenager who takes an abstinence pledge with the best of intentions, only to stumble into an awkward unprotected sexual encounter a few weeks later in a moment of weakness.

Our latest cavalier is Tim Horton's, a love-em-and-leave-em suitor more interested in scoring quickies than building a lasting relationship. Tim's insisted on having its way with Hamilton at a proposed new location in downtown Binbrook, and The City With Low Self-Esteem gave in and accepted Tim's conditions.

Whereas a more confident, self-respecting city might just say no to a relationship that compromises its principles, Hamilton never met a compromise to which it couldn't hold its nose and acquiesce.

Meanwhile, after Tim's closed a non-drive-thru enabled location at the corner of Aberdeen Ave and Dundurn St, that location opened up to a new 32-unit urban condo development that will include solar panels, bike parking and a car-sharing program.

But hey, I guess a Tim Horton's drive-thru is better than another lonely night at home.

Update: added Street View for Aberdeen and Dundurn. Now where's my "Awesome Badge"?

I mentioned this already in my comment about the Pan Am Stadium.............. Imagine a drive through at King and James - That is exactly what it's going to do at an important corner in the "village".

so much for the secondary plan and design guidelines.... why bother?

+1 for use of Cavalier. "Awesome Badge" if you link "Aberdeen Ave and Dundurn St" to Google Streetview.
