Sprawl

Red Hill Consensus at Last

By Jason Leach

It sounds like both sides were right about the Red Hill Expressway.

Red hill opponents warned about sprawling development, pollution, and traffic. That's what's coming.

Red hill supporters like the Mayor are calling it a "transformation" of that area due to Red Hill, as old farmland is transformed subdivisions, big box developments, and traffic.

Both sides agree at least.

Does anyone know when the official opening date of the Red Hill Express will be? I know the general timeline was slated for Fall of 2007, but does anyone know the exact date?

When the expressway opens, I understand that some overpass's will not be complete at the QEW. Does anyone know if this is true and if so, which ones won't be open?
