Committee of the Whole Supports Anti-Idling By-Law

After impassioned presentations by several residents - including a group of schoolchildren - in support of the proposed anti-idling by-law, the committee of the whole voted unanimously to support it.

Drive thrus are funny. I can understand if there's one car (or none) and you are getting a coffee.. in that case you could possibly have your coffee in the same time it takes to park and unpark your car. But in the mornings I always see these lineups five, ten or more cars long and the lot is empty. I am back out with an entire breakfast in less time than it takes the guy who arrived ahead of me to order -- plus his bagel (when he finally gets it) is a lot less likely to be fully toasted than mine!
