Imagine if we calmed traffic on York and Cannon and developed an urban district with this type of feel. Vine Street, McNab, James, John, etc. - the east/west corridor along York/Wilson and Cannon has some great old buildings and former homes.

Unfortunately it is a freeway through this stretch. Strange how businesses don't just pop up and thrive on our downtown mega-highways.

It seems as if urban restoration is a common sight these days. Im not sure if Omaha ever had a city sprawl problem though, like Kansas City does, although people are moving back. Nice looking market place. I like how they never pulled up the brick streets there for asphault.
