City Cycling Program Funding Restored

Councillor Brian McHattie has successfully fought for the reinstatement of the cycling program funding, including the creation of a city staff position.

All members of the public works committee are expected to approve, except Ancaster Councillor Lloyd Ferguson who said he could not justify spending the money because he hasn't seen any cyclists on the bike lanes at Golf Links.

Has Mr. Ferguson ever even been downtown, or does he only personally experience the parts of Hamilton that lie between his house and Wal*Mart?

All sarcasm aside, I have to say that overall this is exciting news. Kudos to (most of) council for bringing this back!
