I specifically heard you will only need one fare for travellers on B-Line regardless, no charge to transfer at the Circle. Presumably it might be a pass built into Presto. Some municipalities are discontinuing separate passes and making it built into Presto instead. It's my expectation that the LRT will be fare-integrated with the HSR in one form or another. Far-away bus connectors might be in a different bus zone, as already today, but there would be an Eastgate B-Line bus with a free transfer to LRT.

Consider the LRT will be extremely frequent, I specifically heard 4-minute to 6-minute frequency. So the transfer will fortunately be brief.

Details not necessarily final but that's what I heard in presentations by the city/Metrolinx.

Hamilton can begin building B-Line LRT now and fund Phase 2 fairly quickly in a favourable 2018 or 2022 income, if Stoney Creek changes their mind and generally decide they want the LRT. Much like how voting changed in other cities. Ottawa is doing the same, funding Phase 2 while the original LRT is still under construction.
