Yesterday in the spec, developer Dave Blanchard said that if the Stelco tower was turned into condos, it would sell out in no time. If that is true, then downtown is drawing new residents and the revitalization won't need much more than that and the merchants who will come to serve them. Time to stop looking for businesses to fill office towers that are dead space most of the time, and fill the downtown instead with residents.
Jackson Square is a lovely downtown indoor community. It just needs its own residents to make it sparkle!
