Except that the U.S. is not really dependent on mid east oil. Venezuela and Canada provide the vast majority of their imported oil. Much different today than the oil embargo of the 70's.

Why would you fight a war to get something you can buy on the open market? The cost of the war is huge compared to oil the Americans get from there. The war did not increase oil supplies.

You may or may not like American actions but to blame the war(s) on oil is a little far fetched. Just follow the money. I certainly do not approve of a lot of the things that they do but I find it hard to believe they did it for oil.
