Sure people are less violent. You mistake less violent numbers with less violence and those are 2 different things. Look at the riots in London and other cities in England. How about the riots in Vancouver in after the Stanley Cup series. Less and less restraint is being shown especially by our young people. Part of that comes from the police being more and more restrained. The riots in London would come to an end pretty quickly if the police were able to use gas, less lethal and lethal weapons in that order with the intention to stop the riots. I do not want to see anyone die but I would much rather see a rioter die than an innocent civilian. The rioters have a choice the women whose house was set on fire and had to jump out of an upper story window had no choice.

There might very well be less muggings on Hamilton streets but the violence worldwide is escalating. We are seeing flash mobs with the sole intent of violence, something that is very new. Sooner or later the police are going to come down hard on these savages and some of them will be killed. I hope it is not one of my loved ones, hopefully they know better.
