The only people who'd disagree with you are boomers who grew up with the reality that "university degree = success" and people still stuck in school.
The rest of the world is moving on to realize that school is all about stomping out creativity, stomping out the things that make a person unique, and keeping people out of the workforce for as long as possible. It's a racket. It doesn't have a bad name today, but it'll come as soon as home education and communal/private education become too compelling for people to refuse.
We've seen graduation rates rise alongside a dumbing-down of the curriculum. Not a surprise.
