We are not that far from bankruptcy ourselves. One of the few things keeping Hamilton afloat is the taxes of Ancaster, Dundas and the like. Poor Detroit does not have that luxury. They are being kept afloat by their large corporate segment. In the long run they will be better off then we are. In fact Detroit has a big enough corporate base that they funded over half of the LRT project. OH OH wait a minute that got canceled didn't it. To be replaced by a BRT line instead because the LRT project was too expensive. That was a 15 Km project for city metropolitan area of 4 or 5 million. Thank God sanity prevailed hopefully it will prevail here too.
