Central Presbyterian Book Club, is pleased to welcome Rev. Dr. Pamela R. McCarroll, who will speak on the topic of her recent book The End of Hope–The Beginning, Narratives of Hope in the Face of Death and Trauma on Sunday, April 3, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at Central Presbyterian Church in the church hall, 165 Charlton Avenue West, Hamilton. The public is cordially invited to attend. There is no admission fee, but a free-will offering will be appreciated to cover expenses. A reception will follow.

Hope is the fundamental belief that we cling to in times of trauma and despair. In her book, Rev. Dr. McCarroll takes us on an engaging and optimistic exploration of hope in difficult times. Through detailed and poignant case studies, she introduces five facets of hope, followed by a discourse of the possibilities and limitations of each approach.

Rev. Dr. McCarroll is a certified teaching supervisor in clinical pastoral education, Canadian Association of Spiritual Care (CASC), and an ordained minister of the Presbyterian Church in Canada. She earned her PhD in theology through Toronto School of Theology, the University of St. Michael’s College and is currently an associate professor of pastoral theology, Knox College, Toronto. Born in Prince Rupert, B.C., she grew up in Hamilton before moving to Toronto where she currently resides.

Proverbs 24:34...”Know also that wisdom is like honey for you: if you find it there is a future for you, and your hope will not be cut off.”
