Greenbelt Awareness Bike Ride

We're going on a summer's bike ride through the countryside, and you're invited!

Ride with Environment Hamilton on the Trans-Canada rail trail running from Dundas to Brantford. Visit Heart's Content Organic Farmstead, a beautiful 57-acre farm, that wants to be included in the Greenbelt.

A mile away from the Greenbelt's protected countryside, Heart's Content farm is fighting to be included in it. Meet the farmers who will tell you why Brant County's precious farmlands need to be protected permanently from encroaching sprawl--pressure building as a result of leap frogging development--from Hamilton (in the Greenbelt) over to Brant County/Brantford. Details: 9.15am: Riders meet at Fortino's (1579 Main St W, Hamilton). 9.30 am: Riders take off. 11.30 am Arrive at Heart's Content Farm (27 Ronald Rd., RR #8 Brantford).

11.45: FREE Lunch!! "Lunch and Learn" about why we need to grow the Greenbelt to include Brant County/Brantford 12.30 Ride back to Hamilton.

Optional--stay on for a tour of the farm.

*Lunch includes sandwich, treat, fruit and beverage. You are welcome to bring your own lunch if you prefer.
