The Ontario Municipal Board ruled against Hamilton City Council's attempt to gerrymander Hamilton's ward boundaries, imposing the professional consultants Option 2.

This creates a new ward on Hamilton Mountain and splits the exercising rural Ward 14 between Dundas and Ancaster.

Join The Public Record as we bring together the key people who appealed Council's gerrymander and argued for fairer ward boundaries in front of the Ontario Municipal Board.

Our Panel

  • Rachel Barnett and Dr. Karen Bird, co-authors of the pivotal paper on minority voter dilution cited by the Board.

  • Mark Richardson, appellant who settled with the City on the "preferred" boundaries that OMB ruled against.

  • Rob Dobrucki, the citizen who took the appeal to the end and won, will be on our panel tonight.

Doors open at 6:30pm, Panel starts at 7:15pm.

There is no admission charge, the cafe will be open serving their full drink menu and light food.
