Passport to Hamilton

A great new initiative developed by Environment Hamilton and the HSR will be unveiled at a public launch this Friday, July 18th at 10:00 am at Williams Coffee Pub on the waterfront.

Passport to Hamilton offers discounts at various museums, galleries, dining spots and tourist attractions when you purchase an HSR Day Pass.

This is a fabulous deal, considering a Day Pass only costs $8.00.

A Passport to Hamilton map is also being printed and will be available at the launch on Friday along with free energy savings kits, ice cream and a host of other treats for both young and old.

Kudos to EH and the HSR for developing this program. Let's hope it is well-received by the public and can grow and improve year after year.

Also, a personal desire of mine is to see 3-day and 7-day passes made available by the HSR.

The more options we can give people to leave the car at home, the better. Passport to Hamilton does exactly that. It easily pays for itself and saves you money at the same time.

As a regular HSR user, I can tell you that using the bus has several benefits over driving. With the recent purchase of new buses, the days of sweltering on a non-air conditioned bus appear to be over (at least I haven't been on a non-AC bus so far this summer).

More importantly, you get a better perspective of the city.

Check out the Passport to Hamilton map and website, then get out and enjoy our great city this summer.
