Good news from yesterday's Hamilton Spectator: Nicole MacIntyre reports that a joint ruling by the Ontario Municipal Board and the Ministry of Natural Resources has declared the "Winona Blob" outside the urban boundary and off limits to development.

The 3.8 hectare (9.3 acre) parcel of land near Winona Road and Highway 8 has been in dispute for a decade, as De Santis-owned Hamilton General Homes has been trying to build 17 new houses and local residents trying to preserve the green space have opposed the plan.
