Urging A No Vote To Liberty Energy Proposal

By Ray Fullerton
Published May 16, 2011

I am an engaged citizen of the City who has been following the Liberty Energy file since November 2009. Recently on May 9, 2010 I made a presentation to the General Issues Committee (GIC) at City Hall recommending that the committee members vote NO to the proposed Liberty Energy sludge incinerator. See below for the presentation.

Why NO?

I would recommend that you do your own research and contact your councillor and also plan on attending/view online the GIC - Liberty Energy meeting Wednesday, May 18, 2011 11:00 a.m. at City Hall for deliberations on this issue.

Ray Fullerton is a Hamiltonian for life. Educated at Barton S.S. and McMaster University, he enjoyed a life-long learning career at Dofasco as a Research Engineer. Ray has recently retired and become an engaged citizen in civic politics.

Where were you when Dofasco was spewing pollutants into the airshed? Making money and keeping quiet? Why are you not running a campaign against that employer?

At least Dofasco was making steel destined to be the backbone of some of the most important industries in Canada's economy. We got something for the pollution we tolerated.

Even when we were the home to the industry that pushed Canada forward, we were given "armpit" status by most of the country.

Can you imagine the effect of building a shit burner and taking all of Ontario's shit?

If this city is going to survive, we need to be attracting new industries, new employees and new residents.

If you are happy living in the toilet of a nation, please move elsewhere and lobby for the incinerator there.

The rest of us are sick of being shit on.

Agreed. I've always thought this city needs an enama...from those who have us stuck in the past and who are blocking our progress!

There was Fullerton at council today being Mr. Environment and then the woman who followed him criticizing Arcelor Mittal where Fullerton worked and got his fat pension as the polluter of the neighbourhood. Ha

I like Jason. He is a visionary not afraid of doing what's right for this city...an original thinker who will be mayor some day.

Jason as Mayor? We already have that type of candidate for mayor and his name is Michael Baldasaro. :)
