lol @ "Lock Street" in the legend. Nice work, EcDev.

Edit: Also, why is it stopping at Pier 8?

Guessing that this is a mutated version of the 99 Waterfront Shuttle (now retired for the season), which also runs to Pier 8/Discovery Centre. that stop might carry over as a matter of convenience, but more probably as a sop to Tourism Hamilton/Waterfront Trust... might have helped tap extra funding for the free service. The map leaves a lot of blanks, though -- no directional arrows, no mention of departure times. Presumably the routing will avoid cutting through Supercrawl and the Locke Street Festival, so this may be turn out to be a less-than-competitive alternative. The walk from Locke/Main to York/James is around 20 minutes; the 99 loop ran on the half-hour, and paid routes like 5/6/7 that run on a tighter schedule might be a better bet.

Not especially well-publicized, but here we go: The festival shuttle runs every half hour and will reportedly take six minutes to get from Main & John to John & WIlson.

good idea.... an even better idea would be to have Main and King as true, walkable, bustling downtown streets and people could enjoy an afternoon walking through the city.

Main and King are walkable, the reason that its not bustling is that not enough people live and shop there. Frankly other than a few restaurants there isn't much of an attraction that Limeridge or Eastgate don't do better. Get some real investment instead of more government occupied offices and things will improve. The first step would be for RTH to lay off of investors

Pier 8 has an important visitor this weekend, as the tall ship Pride of Baltimore will be moored there. Worth a look. Also, at pier 9, HMCS Montréal, one of our Halifax Class patrol frigates, is visiting and will be moored next to the Haida.
