Tomorrow at 10:00 AM, the city will finally unveil its long-awaited Farmers' Marked and Central Library Renovation plan in an event at the Central Library main floor auditorium.

The proposal, developed by David Premi Architects Inc, will be implemented in concert with the York Boulevard Streetscape Master Plan, which entails two-way conversion, sidewalk widening, and other measures to make the street more pedestrian-friendly.

I think it will be interesting how this plays out. This in some ways is a make-or-break project for Premi. It is nice to know that his firm is downtown and 5 minute walk from this project and not some outta town firm with their eyes at the door.

Will the streetscape be redone at the same time as the market reno?? According to the streetscape website, they seem to be about halfway through the endless planning process necessary before construction, yet the market is moving into Jackson Square by this spring.

Anyone know??
