Comment on Hamilton's Official Plan

By RTH Staff
Published January 27, 2009

The City wants your feedback on the Draft Official Plan for Hamilton.

The city is also holding public meetings to display the plan (though all the information is also posted on the website). The next two are:

Both meetings will be held from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM.

If you can't make it, you can still make yourself heard by sending comments to the city by filling out and submitting the comment sheet (PDF link) or by email to opreview@hamilton.ca.

The deadline for feedback is February 9, 2009.

I compiled a single PDF download of all of the display boards - easier than loading each one individually from the city's website...

oh yippee, we get to waste our time commenting on another plan just like we did with setting sail and so many others that get tossed into the garbage the first time an application comes along:

I think I'll pass and do something more productive with my time.

I completely agree with Jason.

A 'plan' suggest intensive study & input from experts & the general public, as well as the City. What we have now is a situation of more exceptions than rules, & intensive study + public input that is often ignored.

Does what we have now look like a 'plan' to anybody? After the usual hatchet job is done on the 'New Plan', it's gonna look about like to old one.

It looks like a nice plan, but I find it hard to believe that city hall will stick to it. If history is any guide, the majority of council will bend over backwards as soon as commercial dollars become involved.
