Unofficial Council Recommendations for Committees, Boards, Agencies

By RTH Staff
Published November 30, 2010

Yesterday, the members-elect of Hamilton City Council held an unofficial meeting that was not announced publicly beforehand, in which the councillors got together and came up with unofficial recommendations - more what you call guidelines than actual rules, we might say - for which councillors should sit on boards, agencies, committees and subcommittees.

Joey Coleman obtained a copy of the documents produced by the meeting, which lay out the board, agency, committee and subcommittee memberships.

well, so long for getting trucks off downtown streets in the next 4 years.

I hope Farr has his head, and heart, into this job. He has some really high profile roles and will face opposition from NIMBY's at every turn. He needs to do what's best for Hamilton and establish right off the bat that he won't be anyone's puppet. If he does so, he can really bring some great change and continue the momentum downtown in his first term.

I see I wasn't the only person to notice that none of the councillors on the truck route subcommittee is from the lower city of Hamilton. I guess that's because there are no truck route issues there.
