Matt Jelly has launched a campaign to save the Board of Education building.

McMaster has proposed a new health campus downtown at the corner of Main Street and Bay Street, but their plan includes the demolition of the Board of Education building, which will become vacant once the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board moves to a new office on the mountain.

Jelly writes, "If you feel that this building doesn't need to be demolished to build the proposed Downtown Health Campus, please email McMaster University President Patrick Deane preswww@mcmaster.ca and Mayor Bratina at mayor@hamilton.ca, as well as your local councillor. Please be respectful in all correspondence."

Update: updated to correct McMaster University President Patrick Deane's email address. You can jump to the changed paragraph.

I'll admit I've been disrespectful in the ways I've communicated in the past, and in acknowledging those mistakes I'm trying to do things the right way. Try it with me. Let's talk instead of me having to respond to an unaccountable pseudonym all the time. If you just want to hate me, that's fine I guess, but it's just not productive for either of us. You're right. It's all ridiculous.

And after we accomplish this, I think we should tilt at windmills for a while then head out to Loch Ness on the way to catching the Abominable Snowman. The rest of you can chat with a lepreuchan or two at Slainte's.
