A very stylish post-modern building is under construction on McMaster's campus, right next to the main entrance on Main Street.

It will be an engineering building and include sustainable technology studies among other science and engineering-related uses.

This building will stand out architecturally in Hamilton and will surely be a landmark as McMaster's new front entrance occupies a very prominent location in the city. Let's hope that Hamilton starting to turn the corner in terms of building design and sustainable LEED technologies.

Jason Leach was born and raised in the Hammer and currently lives downtown with his wife and children. You can follow him on twitter.

The new West Village Student Condos being built by the Valvasori brothers on the old CNIB site are also LEED certified. RTH had a good article on the architect Rick Lintack back in May.
