My commute is 10 km from Durand to near Parkdale and Burlington Street. It takes me 30 minutes. Which means I am travelling at the normal urban cycle planning speed of 20 km/hr average.

When one takes into account the amount of time required to work to pay for a car, the average car speed is less than 10 km/hr. Half the speed of a bicycle.

I'll use the new Cannon lanes every day when they open. A proper Burlington Street cycle track would also provide a route to work.
