I was, as part of the City's Rapid Transit Citizen's Advisory Committee, along with about 20 other community stakeholders.
There is still information about the community engagement process at http://www.hamiltonrapidtransit.ca/index... and anyone interested can see what information was presented and what the results were.
See, in particular, the initial feasibility study panels from May 2008, which give a full comparison of BRT and LRT including estimated costs. The feasibility consultations fairly compared BRT and LRT in all respects, and the public throughout the city preferred LRT.
