Precisely. The province is waiting for us to tell them what we want in unequivocal terms. I really don't understand why someone would argue that we need to wait in line behind Mississauga. They are clear about what they want. It shouldn't be our role to defer our needs to theirs. We all need to invest in transit infrastructure if there's any real intention to fulfill the objectives set out in the Province's Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe and Places to Grow, etc. The Province's main concern is successful outcomes ... they don't want to go thru the nightmare unleashed by Rob Ford's victory in Toronto again. At this point they are going wait until they see what the electorate decides in the upcoming municipal election. We need a clear mandate from the public for a pro-LRT council and mayor. Granted, i gather that is what people thought they had in Bratina last time and council has already voted to support LRT. I was still in Toronto last election and so this is my first Hamilton election cycle.
