By the way, West 5th is almost done now and is a text-book case study in Hamilton's basic reconstruction policies being incredibly antiquated.

From the Mtn Brow to Mohawk one can only hope that they are planning bus-only lanes, but I think we all know the answer to that. It is incredibly wide. Looks to be 60 feet wide. On a very lightly travelled street. in fact, at Mohawk it becomes 1 lane each way with a centre turning lane and bike lanes and is completely devoid of traffic all hours of the day.

Why on earth we needed 5 mega wide lanes on a newly built roadbed wide enough for 6 lanes I'll never know.

The portion where students from the college may actually be on bikes is shaping up to be one of the most colossal wastes of money I've ever seen, again unless the plan is for bus-only lanes from Mohawk to the Mtn Brow - this would be the only logical explanation for the manner in which this street has been designed.

Either that, or we've now joined the ranks of Dubai with piles of money to spare at city hall, just begging to be wasted on something.
