Here in Vancouver we have entire streets dedicated to cycling!! West 7th and West 10th immediately come to mind. Ok the entire street isn't exactly dedicated to cycling but entire streets are shared with cars, there is parking on both sides of the streets and bikes typically travel faster on these streets than cars do or can.
I think a dedicated lane for Queensdale would be best, but for other slower moving streets, this type of "cycle street route" would be best.
I just tried to look for a Hamilton Cycling Map, this is what I found.

Who could ever make sense of this? It is completely unusable! So, basically Hamilton doesn't have one.
