I prefer that these buildings be kept, with its own original structure...
...but I heard the city is willing to accept facadism in this particular case. As long as it isn't looking like a dead paper cutout flush on a massive tower (i.e. sufficient cascading setbacks, etc). There's good facadism where I can't tell it was a facadomy at all, and there's terrible facadism where it's bungled so badly.
That said, I feel it could go either original buildings versus facadism -- (perhaps original building plus taller building in the vacant lots behind the original buildings) -- the issue is the risk we'll lose these facades and we don't want that.
