Benjamin Netanyahu hardly “reinvented himself” as a terrorism “expert” thanks to the Fox network.

He served as a soldier and officer in an elite antiterror unit in the Israel Defense Forces long before anyone had heard of the Fox television network, which was started in October 1986. He participated in a number of missions in the War of Attrition from 1967 to 1970. He took part in the rescue of the hijacked Sabena Airlines hostages at Ben Gurion Airport, in which he was wounded.

In 1979 he initiated and organized an international conference against terrorism, under the auspices of the Jonathan Institute, a private foundation dedicated to the study of terrorism, which was named after his brother Jonathan, killed while leading the rescue party at Entebbe airport in Uganda in July 1976.

In October 1991 he was a senior member of the Israeli delegation to the Madrid Peace Conference, which initiated the first direct negotiations between Israel, Syria, Lebanon and a joint Palestinian – Jordanian delegation.
