another capitalist. I think you're on to something, but my personal suggestion would be slightly different. Keep city hall as the main city hall/council chambers/public gathering spot etc.... but instead of building a new tower behind city hall, but Lister and use it for city office space (even though the building is much more suited for apartments) and connect it into the City Centre offices with an attractive bridge over James Street. Even once city hall is renovated it will only house something like a third of city employees. If anything has to be demolished, I'd prefer it to be the Board of Ed building. But I agree with you that it's been great having hundreds of employees in Jackson sq/ City Centre.
