The last point is perhaps the most important. To maximize the LRT affect, it must be partnered with proper land use planning.

Hamilton is doing such planning with the "nodes and corridors" approach.

Furthermore Hamilton has the benefit of studying other similar projects to see what went wrong and what went right with them. Hamilton is, no doubt, learning form Buffalo's mistakes.

Perhaps the biggest difference is including the university on the line. Buffalo's university was placed remotely away from downtown, while Hamilton's is already connected to our downtown, and that connection will strengthen with the B-line LRT.
