I would posit that the silent majority who oppose two-way streets (along with the climate change deniers) have told an extremely compelling public policy narrative, one that is completely devoid of facts. FUD does flow in to fill the absence of data - but it is in and of itself a powerful public policy narrative. It just happens to be one that few of us here agree with.

Therefore I completely agree with you - stats are necessary to dispel FUD, but are by no means sufficient.

I also agree that Jason's stats are usefull, but differ in that I find them not nearly as usefull as his comment afterwards that puts them in the context of a benefit.

We may have to agree to disagree on this (the primacy of the narrative). :)
