Ryan.... many cars going on Longwood are in the middle of journeys that neither begin or end anywhere near it. Anyone coming into Hamilton from Brantford & beyond, into Westdale, really has no other option but to go via Longwood. So I really don't think reducing the number of lanes on this street is going to encourage many people to switch to bicycles. Doubly true considering that cycling on Main West is still extremely hostile towards bicycles.
Gosh, anyone seriously contemplating a cycle bridge across the 403 while not addressing Main West really needs to get their priorities straight. The city has already invested a lot of time and money into two paths across the 403 already, and they're almost empty. We don't need a third right now!
