Raise the Hammer
The Down Syndrome Association of Hamilton is hosting our First Annual Buddy Walk. The "Buddy Walk" was first organized by the National Down Syndrome Association in the USA to promote awareness and inclusion for people with Down syndrome. It is called a "buddy walk" as the intention is for a person with Down syndrome to have a "buddy" to walk with during this fundraising event.
Whether you have Down syndrome, know someone who does, or just want to show your support, come and join us! While our event is free, we are asking participants to raise or donate a minimum of $10 per walker, to cover costs incurred with putting together this community event.
Our goal, in organizing a Buddy Walk, is to increase the level of awareness, understanding and acceptance for Down syndrome within the Hamilton community.
