If you agree to participate in this survey, an interviewer will ask you questions about your background, drug behaviour, sex, and sexual practices as well as use of health services.
This survey includes the collection of finger-prick blood samples.
The dried blood sample will be sent to the Public Health Agency of Canada lab where it will be tested for HIV and HEPC. There will be no human DNA genetic testing done on the dried blood sample.
The survey is anonymous.
A $20 food card is available for eligible participants.
Your help with this survey is vital for Hamilton Public Health to better serve people who inject drugs.
If, while completing the questionnaire, it becomes apparent that you plan to hurt yourself or others, the interviewer will be obliged to stop and make a report to the police and/or children services.
